  WHEN will the LICENSING TEST for Technicians be offered in Utah County, Utah, for January & February 2018?

  Also, Salt Lake County, Utah?

    Heh. Well, this is an interesting place to ask that question, but I will try to help =]

    You can find the Utah exam schedules at https://user.xmission.com/~uarc/testinfo.html

    The exam sessions in Provo, which I help with, are generally the third Wednesday of each month and there is usually a Saturday session on Tuesday or Wednesday. Once they are scheduled they will be listed on https://hamstudy.org/sessions but you can find info on how to contact the coordinating VE on the page I linked above.

    Happens :-/ We might have some sort of sale around the same time as Dayton Hamvention; not promising anything, but we did last year. We shall see.

  I have a few questions about ordering the attana. I could not find the color option, and I could not see the option to get both sides of the bnc, how many watts can go through the antenna? Would it work for an external antenna for my truck and side by side?

    To answer your questions:

    • We only make black antennas w/ glow in the dark base, at least online. Sometimes we have some variations, but rarely — too hard to manage inventory
    • We only have BNC male connectors for antennas — not sure if that answers your question about “both sides of the bnc” or not.
    • I haven’t tested extensively, but it’s unlikely you will damage the antenna by putting too much power through it. If it starts to smoke and melt the heat shrink then you’re probably putting too much power in it… and if it breaks, we’ll replace it under warranty.
    • I would not recommend using it as an external antenna as it’s probably too floppy, but you can try if you’d like =]
