It has taken me 50 years to acquire my Ham ticket and last night earned a General Class license on the first attempt. Only after retirement was I focused enough to study, and after a few weeks of using Hamstudy.org during my idle hours did I feel ready to go for it. In an hour and a half after walking in to the test room I walked out after passing the General Class license. I credit Hamstudy.org and their sample tests in helping me prepare. While my electronics background was solid a lot has changed in Amateur Radio since I bought my first set of ARRL license manuals in 1967.
Hamstudy.org I thank you.

I PASSED my General test! And I now have my General license tucked into my wallet. I credit hamstudy.org for my success. I Hate taking tests. But I studied for a couple months using this site. Went through the study mode till I got 100%, then still continued. David used this site too. Not as much. A few days before we studied and took some practice tests here together. Come to find out I remembered a lot that he got wrong. (He got 6 wrong). I only got ONE question wrong on the test. “Almost Aced It!” the VE said. I bought the app during the sale and now I’m working on the Extra class. It’ll take me months to be ready, but this is the site (and app) that will do it for me. (And I am NO Electronic genius – I’m just good at memorizing…smile). Thanks so much!!

Would love to see you produce a morse-code study app that works like the exam-prep! I love the feedback that you get on the exam-prep modules!

=] We’ve made the decision to try to do a few things well instead of a lot of things decently, so it’s unlikely that we will have a morse code app in the near future; I won’t say never, but it’s not on my roadmap right now. Sorry!

How does one start a ham radio study? I haven’t found any reading materials for total beginners, just sample questions

There are a lot of good “getting started” resources out there; check https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/wiki/gettingstartedus for a list
